Dorothy M. Thomas-Slater, 91, Independence, Missouri died Friday, February 8, 2013 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born November 27, 1921 to Hugh T. and Lila G. (Black) Montgomery.
Dorothy married Dugan Slater in August of 1968.
Mrs. Slater was a secretary for Midwest Savings and Loan before retiring. She attended McCarthy Baptist Church and was a member of American Legion Post 21 Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Doris Clevenger and Etta Matzes.
Survivors: son, Ernest John Thomas, St. Joseph, Missouri; daughters, Marsha Pepper (Dick), Grandview, Missouri and Denna Sprouce, Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Lila G. Albertson, St. Joseph, Missouri; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
