Area law enforcement agencies are teaming up to bring a film to St Joseph that’s very close to their hearts. It’s called “Heroes Behind The Badges,” a look at the lives and emotions of law enforcement officers, especially those who have been killed in the line of duty.
Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputy Sarah Hardin says “with that occurring way too often in Northwest Missouri, we’ve been through it.”
“Now we want to share with the community. This is our job, and what we go through every day,” Hardin said. This movie takes you through what it is to be us, and how it is every single day when we go out on the streets and we know we may not be coming home.”
“It will show the emotions that we go through just on a daily basis from call to call. You know we might be taking a simple auto-theft report one minute, and then a few minutes later a shots-fired call, when you’re on top of your game, entering a potential life-threatening situation.”
The film will be screened Saturday, February 16, at the Central High School Auditorium. The event starts at 4:30 p.m. and the film screens at 6:30.
Hardin says the executive producer, retired Miami/Dade Lieutenant William Erfurth, will there to introduce the film. Find out more about the film at their Web site here.
Tickets are $15 until midnight Friday, and are $20 at the door. You can buy advance tickets here.
