Officials snow totals were hard to come by Friday. The AP reported 17 inches in some areas of Kansas. At 2:30pm Thursday, the Weather Service told us there were 6″ on the ground, with snow still falling. Thundersnow caused some very heavy snowfall rates in Kansas City and Wichita, two-to-four inches per hour falling for short periods. Nine inches were reported at KCI through 9pm Thursday. About a foot fell in areas south of the Missouri River in KCMO.
