The St Joseph School District has called a news conference Friday morning to “introduce the new Superintendent to the community.”

Media reports indicate the district has hired Fred Czerwonka, who resigned as superintendent in the West Plains, Missouri school district, “to take the superintendent’s job in St Joseph.”

Czerwonka would replace Dr. Melody Smith who is retiring as superintendent at the end of this school year.

The district hired the Missouri School Board Association to help screen national candidates.
