A 20-year-old St Louis man was injured after falling asleep at the wheel along US-71 highway north of Savannah this morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Devin Clark was driving north on the Andrew County highway at about 6:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say his vehicle crossed the center line, left the highway, went down an embankment and overturned.

According to the crash report, Clark had fallen asleep.

He suffered what were described as moderate injuries and was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center.  He was treated and released.
