Woman Charged With Helping Husband Dodge Capital Murder Case

Rebecca HollisterThe wife of convicted killer Roger Hollister has been arrested for allegedly helping her husband “avoid arrest, trial, conviction, or punishment” in the death of Patricia Kimmi of Horton, Kansas.

Rebecca Hollister, 58, is being held in the Nemaha County Jail pending an initial court appearance.

Bond has been set at $100 thousand.

In a news release, Nemaha County Attorney Brad LIppert said a criminal complaint has been filed in the District Court of Nemaha County charging Hollister with Aiding a Felon, a Severity Level 8 Person Felony. Specifically, it is alleged that between the dates of November 6, 2009 and March 1, 2011, Hollister aided her husband, Roger Hollister, with the intent that he avoid arrest, trial, conviction or punishment for the commission of a felony.

On March 1, 2011, an Atchison County jury found Roger Hollister guilty of capital murder in the death of Patricia Kimmi in November of 2009.  He was sentenced to life in prison.

The following month, Roger Hollister pleaded no contest to aggravated battery and aggravated intimidation of a witness.   At the time, authorities said he had tried to kill Rebecca Hollister, by swerving their vehicle into the path of an oncoming truck.  Both were seriously hurt.

Rebecca Hollister was arrested at her home in Topeka, Kansas, following an ongoing investigation by the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. She remains incarcerated in the Nemaha County Jail.

The charges filed against Rebecca Hollister are merely accusations. She is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
