Twenty-five business, government and community leaders traveled to Washington this week to meet with lawmakers from Missouri.

Senator Claire McCaskill met with members of the Community Alliance of St Joseph and the St Joseph Metro Chamber.

McCaskill said they focused the discussion on the 139th Air Lift Wing of the Missouri Air National Guard located in St. Joseph, and on ways to bolster future opportunities, improve their impact on the community, and strengthen the local economy.

The delegation also met with Senator Roy Blunt and Representative Sam Graves, along with some top brass at the Pentagon.

This is the 15th straight year for the “fly in,” in which the business and community leaders from St. Joseph travel to Washington, D.C., to lobby on behalf of St. Joseph residents.
