Sheriff Says He Would Not Help Federal Gun Confiscation

Buchanan County Sheriff Mike Strong
Buchanan County Sheriff Mike Strong
Buchanan County Sheriff Mike Strong says he won’t go door-to-door to confiscate firearms if the federal government orders it. Strong acknowledges that many people think gun confiscation is coming. He doesn’t think so, but if it does, he says he won’t participate.

Strong says concerns about the Obama Administration’s attitude on firearms caused a shortage of ammunition and some types of weapons. A bulk order of ammunition for the Sheriff’s Department will take months to fill, Strong’s order for a new handgun is also months from shipping, and Strong says applications for concealed weapons permits are up 400 percent.
