The City Council has scheduled a work session to discuss the proposed draft ordinance addressing clean air in St. Joseph workplaces and public places.
The work session will be held at 4:15pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. The meeting will be held in the Council Chamber at City Hall.
The public is invited to attend, but no public comment will be allowed.
Officils say it will be a policy meeting only. They hope to maximize City Council’s time to discuss and, ultimately, determine what, if any, action will be taken.
Seven public meetings were conducted expressly for the purpose of gathering public input for City Council to use in considering and weighing its options. During the public meetings, 116 persons expressed their opinions. In addition, the public was invited to provide input through the city’s website, submitting written comments, or calling the health department.
A total of 512 responses were submitted via the city’s website or comment cards.
A comprehensive list of the notes, suggestions and opinions gathered from these venues was compiled and provided to the City Council for review. In addition, council members have been given the opportunity to view the video tapes made of the public meetings.
