Chiefs sign long snapper Thomas Gafford

ChiefsThe Kansas City Chiefs announced on Wednesday that the club has signed long snapper Thomas Gafford.

Gafford (6-2, 250) has seen action in 73 contests in five NFL seasons with Kansas City (2008-12). Prior to joining the Chiefs, Gafford served stints with Chicago and Seattle as well as two separate stops in Green Bay. He owns 15 career special teams tackles.

The Friendswood, Texas, native originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Packers in 2006. He was a four-year letterman at the University of Houston where he played in 47 games as the Cougars long snapper. He played wide receiver, quarterback, tight end and safety as a prep at Clear Brook High School in Friendswood, Texas.
