Rosecrans Control Tower Survives Sequester

139thCongressman Sam Graves says sequester budget cuts will NOT close the air traffic control tower in Saint Joseph after all. The Federal Aviation Administration had the Rosecrans tower on a list of 24 slated to shut down. Graves and other members of the Missouri congressional delegation argued that keeping the tower open is a national security matter. The airport serves the 139th Airlift Wing.

Graves says keeping it open is the right call. He says the FAA can find other areas to cut, including $500-million spent on consultants and $200-million spent on travel every year.
