The St Joseph City Council will meet Wednesday afternoon to discuss the proposed, draft, clean indoor air ordinance.

The work session will be held at 4:15pm in the Council Chamber at City Hall.

The public is invited to attend, but no public comment will be allowed.

The city received 512 responses via the city web site and through written comment cards.   A total of 116 persons expressed opinions on the smoking ban during seven public meetings held over the last couple of months.

City staff prepared a comprehensive list of the notes, suggestions and opinions and provided it to the City Council for review. In addition, council members have been given the opportunity to view the video tapes made of the public meetings.

No formal action is expected at the work session Wednesday.  Council members must decide whether to move forward with an ordinance, how tough that ordinance should be, and whether they should put it to a public vote.
