The Northwest Missouri State men’s tennis team picked up its second straight win over NCAA Division I Kansas City Tuesday beating the Kangaroos 4-2.
Northwest won its 10th match of the season to improve to 10-3 while UMKC fell to 6-10 overall.
Playing NCAA-I rules, the Bearcats took all three doubles matches for the first point of the day.
Jason Harris continued his impressive play as did Rafael Bugiga picking up wins at No. 6 and No. 2 singles respectively. Harris won 7-6, 6-2 as Bugiga knocked off Grant Fleming, 6-2, 7-5.
The only two points for the Kangaroos came at No. 1 and No. 3 singles.
Northwest opens a stretch of three games in two days over the weekend against regional powers Dallas Baptist, Arkansas-Fort Smith and Newman in Tulsa. Action from La Fortune Park starts Friday against Dallas Baptist before a double-header against Arkansas-Fort Smith and Newman on Saturday.
