The Northwest Missouri State women’s tennis team blanked Maryville University 9-0 Wednesday in non-conference action at Grover Park.
Northwest improved to 6-5 on the season as the Bearcats did not allow a single point from the Saints.
The Bearcats picked up two perfect, 8-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles while Gisela Font and Natalia Galindo won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play the Bearcats were near perfect. Galindo won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles while Font also won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
Camila Quesada won 6-3, 7-6 at No. 1 singles, while the rest of the Bearcat singles were prefect 6-0, 6-0 winners.
Northwest returns to action Thursday against MIAA foe Lincoln before facing three regional opponents in Tulsa over the weekend. Action from Frank Grube Courts is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start against the Blue Tigers.
