Several key personnel shifts, including the new Benton High School Principal, were approved by the St. Joe School Board.

Beery Johnson will be the Benton Principal effective on the first of July. Mr. Johnson is currently the Assistant Director of Transportation and Safety for the District, a post he has held for the past three years.

Prior to that he served as Principal at Truman Middle School for seven years. He joined the SJSD in 1997

Johnson replaces Dr. Jeanette Westfall, who announced her resignation earlier this year.

 

Michelle Thomason will move to Benton High School as the new Assistant Principal. She has served as the Principal at the Colgan Center for the past year. The current assistant principal at Benton, Jeremy Burright will transfer to the Colgan Alternative Resource Center as Principal.

Janice Wing will move from Lindbergh Elementary, where she is the Assistant Principal, to Bode Middle School, where she will be the new Assistant Principal. A former teacher at Bode, she replaces Kevin Carroll, who is moving to Hosea Elementary.
