Authorities in Decatur County, Iowa are still looking for a detainee who escaped from the Mercer County Jail on Sunday.

Sheriff Steve Stockman ways Tyler Hinshaw, 22, pushed past a guard and ran out the back door. Stockman says the incident happened at about 5:15 pm while authorities were releasing another detainee from weekend commitment.

Hinshaw is 5′ 6” tall, and weighs 140 pounds. He has a criminal record but the Sheriff says he is not considered dangerous. He was being held on parole violation and burglary charges.

Hinshaw remains at large in neighboring Decatur County after reportedly stealing a car in Princeton.
