A Jamesport woman and her five-year-old girl were hospitalized after rolling their Chevy Blazer trying to avoid hitting a deer in the roadway.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Kimberly Terhune suffered moderate injuries and young Ella Terhune had minor injuries.

Investigators say the driver swerved to miss the animal along Route B in Daviess County at 7:30 am Thursday. The vehicle left the road overturned and hit a fence.

Both were taken by private vehicle to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany.
