A 71-year-old Trenton man died after a traffic accident in Grundy County Wednesday evening. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Derald Whitney, 71, of Trenton, was driving along US 65 highway at about 5:40 p.m. when he had some kind of medical emergency. The pickup truck left the roadway and went into a ditch.

The Patrol says Whitney was not injured as a result of the crash, but died less than an hour later at Wright Memorial Hospital.
