A Buchanan County jury on Friday returned a guilty verdict against Armon Thompson in the death of a St Joseph teenager during a drive-by shooting in 2010.
The panel deliberated nearly three hours Thursday and Friday morning before convicting Thompson on charges of second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Jordan Bartram was shot and killed while sitting in her car in the 2900 block of Lafayette.
The shooting was one of several in the neighborhood in 2010.
Evidence showed the attack was an act of revenge for an earlier shooting.
Calvin Ford pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 30 years for the incident. Ford testified against Thompson.
Buchanan County Circuit Judge Patrick Robb ordered a sentence assessment report, and scheduled a hearing June 28 for routine post-trial motions and sentencing.
Second degree murder carries a range of possible sentences, from a minimum of ten years up to thirty years, or life imprisonment. Armed criminal action carries a minimum prison term of three years.
