Northern Missouri Congressman Sam Graves continued his visit to the district Tuesday, touring Second Harvest Community Food Bank.
Congressman Graves took a turn packing Senior Boxes and learning about the “Backpack Buddies” program.
Congressman Graves took the time to speak with Regina Overman, harvest ambassador at Second Harvest, about how important USDA commodities are to the mission of Second Harvest.
You still have one day to vote your support for Second Harvest, and help them win a $45 thousand grant.
They’re taking part in Walmart’s Fighting Hunger Together initiative.
The money will help expand Campus Cupboard, the school-based pantry program.

To receive funds, Second Harvest must receive enough votes to be ranked in the top 40 amongst food banks and agencies from across the country. The public will be able to vote for Campus Cupboard through midnight on April 30. Visitors are allowed one vote a day.
