The Missouri Senate has voted to allow food prepared in home kitchens to be served at non-profit events. State Senator Mike Cunningham says “food nazis” have shut down church suppers and similar events to supposedly protect us. He says when the government says it’s here to help, watch out.
Cunningham says he wrote the bill after complaints about “rogue” inspectors shutting down charitable fundraisers because the food didn’t come from state-inspected kitchens. He says citizens going to such dinners can decide for themselves whether to trust the food. Cunningham says “they tried to take our guns” and now they’re trying to “take away our pickles.” The Senate agreed and sent the bill to the House.
