Two men charged with killing an elderly Missouri woman during an alleged crime spree in March face 18 additional charges.
Eighteen-year-old Jeffery J. Nichols and 22-year-old Christopher D. Lewis, both of Macon, already were charged with first-degree murder in the March 31 death of 92-year-old Carmelita Kaser of Moberly.
Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney Michael Fusselman this week filed 18 additional charges against each man for a series of crimes they allegedly committed before and after Kaser’s death. The charges include robbery, assault, theft and tampering with a motor vehicle.
Nichols is jailed in Chariton County, and Lewis is in the Randolph County Jail on $1 million bond.
Prosecutors allege the men stole vehicles, shot two other people, assaulted others and committed several thefts on the day of Kaser’s death.
