(Update) MSHP Identifies Victims Of I-29 Crash

MSHP purpleA large passenger van carrying people to work at Triumph Foods struck two other vehicles on Interstate 29 south of St Joseph Thursday morning. The driver of the van and his wife were killed. The remaining passengers suffered moderate to serious injuries. Another motorist, a woman from Bellvue, Nebraska, was also injured

The Missouri State Highway Patrol report indicates there was another crash investigation in progress on the interstate.

The driver of the van, Phun Bik, tried to swerve away from a stopped semi. But investigators say the van sideswiped another vehicle which forced it back into the path of the stopped truck.

The Van wound up partially underneath the trailer, destroying it. The crash happened at about 5am Thursday. The northbound lanes of I-29 were closed for about five hours as officers investigated and cleaned up the crash.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report lists eleven victims in the crash, ten in the van, and an eleventh in another vehicle:
