Paving Project Slows Traffic In Brown, Nemaha Counties

KDOT logo 2
Motorists in Brown and Nemaha counties in Kansas can expect traffic delays along US 75 highway through mid-July because of a paving project.

The Kansas Department of Transportation says northbound and southbound traffic will be reduced to just one lane.

The project extends from Sabetha to the Kansas/Nebraska state line and will delay traffic around the clock.

Northbound and southbound U.S. 75 traffic will be directed through the project work zone via a pilot car and flagger operation. Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes maximum and are encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible.

Paving work is taking place in approximately 2.5- to 3-mile increments, not the entire 5-mile stretch of U.S. 75.

Paving operations will take place during the evening and overnight hours, while other project work takes place during the daytime hours. Pilot car and flagger operation will still be in place 24/7 round the clock.

The project work is scheduled to be completed in mid-July 2013, weather permitting.
