“Dish Network” Or Burglary In Progress? Livingston County Sheriff Issues Warning For Wheeling

Livingston County Sheriff's Office PatchThe Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is warning a man in the Wheeling area posing as an employee of the “Dish Network,” who might be looking for homes to burglarize.

In a news release, Sheriff Steve Cox says a Wheeling resident described the man as about 5’7″, wearing colored shorts. He wore a t-shirt and carried a folder bearing the words “Dish Network.”

The company says they did not have anone in the area collecting information.

The witness reported individual was inquiring about satellite service and asking certain other questions. The citizen said the man continued walking and was not seen with a vehicle.

Cox says he is concerned someone may have been casing locations for a burglary or seeking an opportunity to commit a criminal act. He’s asking anyone with information to contact his office at 660-646-0515.
