MSHP purpleTwo people from Northwest Missouri were injured in a near head-on collision in Gentry County Wednesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Teisha Johnson, 18, of Union Star, was driving westbound on Route-Z east of Berlin, Missouri, when another motorist in oncoming traffic started to turn left in front of her.

The second motorist, James Crawford, 34, of Albany, returned to the eastbound lane, but Johnson’s Monte Carlo went into a skid, crossed the center line and hit Crawford’s Geo Tracker on the driver’s side.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the 11 a.m. accident.

Both drivers were treated for what were called moderate injuries at the scene.

Johnson was transported by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center. Crawford was taken to the Northwest Medical Center in Albany.
