City Receives $14 million Loan for Sewer Project

post logoSt Joseph has received a $14 million loan for wastewater improvements from the state’s Natural Resources Department.

The $14.66 million low interest loan announced Monday is for the combined sewer overflow long term control plan.

Funding comes from the Missouri Clean Water State Revolving Fund and will help pay for roughly 5,300 feet of pipe. That pipe will separate the Whitehead Creek Base and stormwater from the existing combined sewer system.

Additional funding comes from federal grants for the $15 million project that should be completed in July 2016.
