A preliminary hearing has been scheduled next month for a 24-year-old Gallatin man charged with raping his four-month-old child.

Bryan Scott Carter is charged with six counts, including statutory rape, statutory sodomy, incest and child endangerment.

At a court appearance Monday, a judge in Daviess County scheduled the preliminary hearing June 3.

 

In court documents, officials said Carter confessed to having intercourse with the child March 30th. The child was seriously injured and underwent surgery at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Carter is being held at the Daviess/Dekalb County Regional Jail. A judge set bail at $500,000.
