More than a thousand KCP&L customers remained without electrical power in St Joseph by Monday afternoon. Crews and residents alike were busy moving fallen trees and replacing snapped power lines.

The utility reports 9,485 customers still without power systemwide, after crews restored power to more than 46 thousand customers who lost it starting at 7:05 p.m. Sunday.
