Livingston County authorities have arrested a Jamesport man for allegedly posing as a deputy sheriff and scamming one victim out of at least $1,400.

Jeremy Brannon, 29, is being held under $25 thousand bond at the Daviess/Dekalb County Regional Jail on one count of financial exploitation of the elderly or disabled.

Chillicothe police say he represented himself as a deputy told the victim he needed a Chillicothe resident to assist him with an investigation. Sheriff Steve Cox says Mr Brannon doesn’t work for his office, and never has.
