The City of Saint Joseph has closed the gates to the Riverwalk because of rising water on the Missouri River. A portion of the walk floods when the river level reaches just over 20 feet. The river is expected to crest at 21.7 feet by Wednesday night or Thursday morning, then drop back below flood stage.

The north end of the Riverwalk is still open. From the nature center north toward the casino the trail is about a two-mile round trip.
