An Interim police chief is in charge in Cameron following the resignation of Chief Corey Sloan last week.

Cameron City Manager Mark Gaugh announced Friday Sergeant Rick Bashor will hold the Interim position. He’s been with Cameron’s Police Department since 1996.

Bashor has received the Northwest Missouri Valor Award and was the Cameron employee of the year in 2011. 

The City Manager says Bashor’s law enforcement training is extensive, and he is anxious to meet the challenges of his new position.
