KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A shooting outside private club in Kansas City has left one person dead and as many as eight others wounded.

Police say officers heard multiple gunshots in the area around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. As officers approached, they found people fleeing and gunshot victims.

Police say it appears that a disturbance began inside the club and continued outside.

The name of the man who was killed wasn’t immediately released. Another victim suffered life-threatening injuries. But police say most of the other victims suffered minor injuries.

Officers are continuing to investigate and asking for the public’s help.
