A 27-year-old St Joseph woman was taken to Heartland Sunday evening after a one-car crash north of St Joseph.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Christy Shipps lost control of her Nissan Altima along US-169 about five miles north of St Joseph shortly before 5:30 pm Sunday.

The vehicle hit a drainage ditch and overturned several times. Shipps says her two children were in the vehicle. She says they suffered some bumps and bruises but are otherwise okay.

Shipps was taken to Heartland with moderate injuries. She was treated and released.
