A community group has started a petition drive to put a Buchanan County Ambulance District on the November ballot. The CARE committee, which stands for Community Ambulance Response to Emergencies, says it will decide in August whether a district is the best response to Heartland’s decision to drop ambulance service. They need to start gathering signatures now to have the option of putting the issue on the ballot in November.

Petitions can be signed in the lobby at Heartland Regional Medical Center and the information desk at the Buchanan County Courthouse.
