A 43-year-old St Joseph woman was charged with stealing after authorities say she took funds belong to the credit union where she worked.

According to a news release from the St Joseph Police Department, Christie Lynn Young is alleged to have stolen nearly $20 thousand belonging to the Goetz Credit Union at 1905 Howard in St Joseph.

The alleged thefts occurred between January 2 and July 3 of this year.

Young is charged with one count of Stealing, a class C felony.
