A 32-year-old St Joseph man was ordered to serve ten years in prison for sexually abusing a girl under the age of 16.

John Howery pleaded guilty in May to two counts of statutory sodomy before Circuit Judge Dan Kellogg.

Police accused Howery of giving marijuana and alcohol to the girl and other minors.

On Tuesday, Judge Kellogg ordered Howery to serve five years for each count.  Kellogg ordered the sentences to be served consecutively.
