Motorcyclist Hurt In Crash Near Cameron; Mystery Driver Sought

MSHP badge goldThe Missouri State Highway Patrol would like to hear from a woman involved in a traffic accident that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital Wednesday.

According to an online crash report, Lee Posz of Overland Park was driving his Harley Davidson on I-35 about five miles south of Cameron Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators believe Posz was passing a third vehicle when the unidentified woman merged onto the interstate from US-69 and tried to pass the other vehicle at the same time.

Descriptions of the woman’s vehicle vary.  One witness said it was a dark blue Chevy Malibu.  Another believed it to be an Impala, and a third said it was a Toyota Corolla.

The motorcycle careened into the median and overturned, ejecting Posz.  He was taken to Liberty Hospital by ambulance with what were described as moderate injuries.  Posz was riding with two other motorcyclists at the time of the accident, but only one of them saw the accident.

Investigators say the woman returned to the scene of the accident briefly and spoke with the victim, but did not stay long enough to leave her name or insurance information.

Corporal Michael Belshe of the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the investigation continues, and they are hoping to hear from the woman to fill in the missing details.
