Last rites are scheduled Saturday, July 20, for Eastern District Andrew County Commissioner John Rotterman, who died in a truck fire July 15.
Visitation is scheduled from four pm until seven pm at Breit-Hawkins, 1010 Highway-71 South in Savannah.
A funeral service with full military honors will be held at seven pm.
Officials on Thursday confirmed that Rotterman died after a truck crash and fire along US-169 east of Union Star Monday afternoon. He is survived by his wife of ten years Becky Rotterman.
They were the co-owners of Savannah Family Pharmacy and of a small family farm in rural Andrew County.
According to an obituary at Breit-Hawkins, John served his country in the 101st Airborne and the 10th Special Forces. He was a graduate of Savannah High School and Southern Tech, Marietta, Ga.
Rotterman was a history buff, having served as past president of the Pony Express Historical Society, and on the board of the Andrew County Museum. He was a member of the Border War Society, and a lifetime member of the Robidoux Row Museum and the Kansas City Posse.
