Charles “Bud” Polley, 85, Elwood, Kansas died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at a healthcare facility in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He was born February 24, 1928 to Charles and Minnie (Graham) Polley in Oregon, Missouri.
He married Geraldine V. Burchett on November 11, 1949. She survives of the home.
Charles served in the United States Air force and was a Veteran of World War II. He attended Bible College in Hot Springs, Arkansas and was an ordained minister. He was also a song leader and adult teacher at his church which was his life.
He loved to hunt, fish, and he owned Cottonwood Kennels where he bred German Shepherds. He was a loving father and grandfather with a great sense of humor.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents.
Additional Survivors: daughter, Tamie Jenkins (Robert), Savannah, Missouri; sons, David Polley (Sherry), St. Joseph, Missouri, Dan Polley (Kerri), St. Joseph, Missouri; and Rick Polley, Fort Riley, Kansas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Julia McDonald (Bob) and Ruth Boston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: 10:00 A.M. Friday, Faith Valley Church of God. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
