William D. Douglass, 69, St. Joseph, Missouri died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at a local healthcare facility.
He was born December 1, 1943 to William E. and Lillie “Belle” (Galloway) Douglass in Santa Anna, California.
William married Jean Statler on January 21, 1978 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kirkwood, Missouri. She survives of the home.
Mr. Douglass retired as food service manager at Western Reception, Diagnostic, and Correction Center the fall of 2011.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church, King Hill Lodge #376, A.F. & A.M., and Moila Temple.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Additional survivors: sister, Patricia “Patty” Moniz, Guthrie, Oklahoma; brother, Lloyd Douglass (Betty), South Dakota; sisters-in-law, Priscilla Statler, Cleveland, Georgia and Charle’ Statler, Clarkesville, Georgia; brother-in-law, Steven Statler (Janet), Jackson, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: 3:00 P.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to Friends of the Animal Shelter or First Lutheran Church Building Fund.
