Search Continues For Missing Runner In Liberty

The search for a missing runner in Liberty, Missouri continues, as police are joined by a large cadre of volunteers.

According to the Facebook page “Bring Chad Rogers Home,” a second day of searching by a police dog failed to locate Rogers, who turned up missing Monday evening. After canine and human searches failed to locate Rogers, police went door to door to pass out fliers.

It’s not clear where Rogers was running when he disappeared, as he was known to vary his route. Local runners, and The City of St Joseph Health Department, recommend you tell someone where you will be running, how long you will be gone, and carry identification.

Rogers is described as a stay-at-home dad, a white male, five-feet-ten-inches tall, with a shaved head and tattoos on his arms, chest and both thighs.

We get this update from one of the searchers:
“A K-9 unit searched throughout much of the late morning and early afternoon. Around 2:30, the dog wore out, so they sent two waves of searchers on foot to the same general area as last night because the dog was losing Chad’s scent in the same spot as yesterday’s dog.

“After volunteers searched on foot for some time, the targeted areas were found to be clean. At 6:45, six K-9 units were sent into the area to work in tandem until after the sun went down. At that time, they sent volunteers home and told us to return to Liberty Christian Fellowship at 8:00 (Thursday) morning.”

If you have information that could help, contact the Liberty Police Department.  Their main phone number is (816)439-4716.
