Take your kids to the St Joe Health Department Thursday for free vaccinations against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis.
Authorities say they are particularly concerned with protecting the public against pertussis, or whooping cough, after a recent increase in reported cases. 49 states and Washington, D.C. reported increases in whooping cough diagnoses last year.
The “Tdap Clinic” will be open at the City of St Joseph Health Department at 904 South 10th in St Joseph from 8-11 am and 1-4 pm.
The free vaccine is available for anyone 11 years of age and older, regardless of insurance status. Screening questions and an immunization review will take place for anyone seeking the vaccine.
