1931-2013

The never-pretentious Kathleen Brockett went to be with her Lord Thursday night in her home, surrounded by her family. She lived her life in service of others. Kathleen was born in Superior, Wyoming, July 6th, 1931, one of 10 children of immigrant parents. She was raised in Casper, Wyoming, where she graduated high school and worked for the phone company. She later worked as office manager for the Wyoming Credit Corporation. Later Kathleen worked for the St Joseph Public Library; she retired in 1990 after 23 years. She volunteered with CASA for 10 years where she worked with young people. She was a caregiver to three grandchildren and helped mold them in a positive manner for the rest of their lives. They love her profoundly.

She met her husband John Brockett, when he was deployed with the Missouri Air National Guard in Wyoming. They carried on a long distance romance, and were later married at St. Mary Catholic church in St. Joseph. They have celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Christopher, her infant brother, her sisters Martha and Patsy, and her brothers Frank, Joseph, Bill and David.

She is survived by her sisters Nora, Virginia, and brother, Patrick. She is also survived by her husband, John, and her sons, Michael (Nancy), Kennan (Marla), and Todd (Tasha), as well as grandchildren, Cole, Claire and Rachel.
