Martha A. Shipers, 84, St. Joseph, Missouri died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 23, 1929 to James and Marie (Christenham) Hudson in Kansas City, Missouri.

She married Oral Shipers in 1970. He preceded her in death in 1994.

Martha worked as a waitress and cleaned houses. She was a past member of South Park Methodist Church and a lifetime member of Lady’s Auxiliary Post #1668.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jimmy Hudson.

Survivors: children, Mary Martin, Allen Burkeybile; step-son; Kenneth Shipers; brother, Harold Hudson; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Services: 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
