The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports an injury accident on I-35 north of Cameron that has shut down southbound traffic, and slowed down northbound traffic.

Officials say southbound traffic is being routed to US 69 highway at mile marker 61. Traffic is being allowed back on the interstate at the 54 mile marker in Cameron.

Dispatchers say one northbound lane is also affected by the two-vehicle crash, but traffic was getting through.

According to MODOT, Interstate 35 southbound remains closed from Route 6 to U.S. Hwy 36 at Cameron due to livestock on the road and a fuel spill.

Expect slowdowns, and plan on using another route if possible.
