Hines, Mary Belle. obitphoto2Hines, Mary Belle. obitphoto1Mary Belle Kempt (Esely) Hines, 79, Savannah, Missouri died Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at a Savannah healthcare facility.

She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on September 9, 1933 and adopted by Earl and Vera (Tilley) Nolt of Savannah, Missouri, who preceded her in death.

Mary graduated from Savannah High School in 1951, where she was the Homecoming Queen in 1950 and also graduated from Casters Beauty School.

She owned Mary Belle’s Beauty Shop in Savannah for five years before moving to Florida. She worked for Honeywell in Largo, Florida for twenty years. She moved back to Savannah in 2012 after 50 years in Florida. She was also of the Baptist Faith. Mary was a generous soul and hard worker her entire life. She loved reading, rescuing and caring for animals, looking for shells at the beach and tending her citrus trees.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Carl Dawson, Frank Kempt, and Johnny Gordon.

Survivors: son, Jeff Esely (Ginger), Savannah, Missouri; daughter, Sandra Koler, Fremont, Ohio; son, Kenneth Hines, Pinellas Park, Florida; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Cordonier (Bill), Wathena, Kansas; and brother, Lee Riley (Vi), Anchorage, Alaska.

As per Mary Belle’s wishes there will be no services. She has been cremated under the care of Missouri Cremation Services. Online guestbook and obituary at www.missouricremation.com.
