Bonnie Louise Messner
1931-2013
Bonnie Louise Messner, 82, Maryville, Missouri, went to be with the Lord
Thursday, August 15, 2013.
Bonnie was born March 10, 1931, in Quitman, Missouri to Pearl Andrew and
Beulah Opal (McAtee) Hart.
She married Clifton Messner January 8, 1947 in Troy, Kansas. To this union
their children Shirley, Dave and Sharon Kay were born. Clifton died in
1961. Bonnie next married Hartford Samson April 30, 1962. They had two
daughters, Nicki and Betty Jo, and Bonnie became a second mother for Sharon,
Kathy and Pam Samson. She later married Bill Sears, and later they
divorced.
After becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant, Bonnie continued her education
by becoming a Medical Technologist. She worked many years at Parkdale Manor
Nursing Home in Maryville.
She was a pioneer member of the Laura Street Baptist Church, where she
taught Sunday School. Bonnie was also a member of the Maryville Women’s
Bowling League.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clifton; daughters Shirley
Messner Hull and Sharon Kay Messner Johnson; sister, Evelyn Seipel and
brothers, Leon and Larry Hart.
Surviving Bonnie are her son, Dave (Sandy) Messner; daughters, Nicki Samson,
Betty (Dale) Reuter, Sharon Samson, all from Maryville, and Kathy (Dale)
Vansickle, Kirksville, Missouri and Pam (Cliff Perry) Samson, Springfield,
Missouri; and sister, Betty Langley, Maryville; ten grandchildren, Sheri
(Tracy) Yates, Stephanie Christi, Brandi Jackson, CJ (Sarah) Messner,
Courtney (James) Cox, Brittany (Dustin) Stringer, Amber Wineland, Ashton,
Kylie and Jacob Reuter; ten great-grandchildren, Spencer, Chandler, Kennedi,
Taylor, Jett, Sydney, Thomas, Kendyl, Kameron and Crayton; and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Monday, August 19, 2013, at Laura Street
Baptist Church, Maryville. A visitation will be held at the church from
9:00-10:00 am prior to the service. Burial will be in Nodaway Memorial
Gardens, Maryville.
