The House Small Business Committee holds a field hearing in Saint Joseph Wednesday on management of the Missouri River. Congressman Sam Graves of north Missouri, chairman of the committee, says the hearing will focus on whether the river meets the needs of small business. Graves says the Missouri River is a tremendous resource and economic driver for the region. But he says poor management, floods, and navigation problems can be devastating to communities and small businesses.
The hearing is set for 10 Wednesday morning in the Council chambers at City Hall.
