Norma L. Bravo 88, of Saint Joseph, MO passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 in Saint Joseph, MO health care center.
She was born January 14, 1925 in Clyde, MO, daughter of Edith and Clarence “Duck” Beaty. She graduated from the Stanberry high school in 1943 then in 1944 entered the Cadet Nurse Corp at the St. Joseph “Sisters” Hospital graduating in 1947 as a Registered Nurse. She stayed active in nursing until December of 1979.
Norma was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post 6760.
Norma was preceded in death by husband, Jose Bravo, her parents, daughter, Martina Marie Bravo, two grandchildren, Brynne Bravo and Jeffery Richey, a sister, Marjorie Beaty-Hayes.
Survivors include four sons, Steven J. Bravo and wife Karen, Leo Bravo and wife Amelia, William “Bill” Bravo and wife Debi, Charles “Chuck” Bravo and wife Terri, two daughters; Vicki Blanchard and husband Danny, and Lou Anne Higdon and husband Galen all of St. Joseph, MO, eighteen, grandchildren, thirty, great grandchildren, one, great great grandchild, a brother, William “Bill” Beaty of Ottowa, KS, as well as several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at 10:00 am at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Father Christian Malewski Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm, Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
